SimplerTrading.com is a website designed for Options Traders. If you click this link or picture, you will be taken to their site and offered a discount on their Options Training course. Their package also includes real-time option trade alerts, as well as live Q&A, live trading, live training room, and videos on trading futures, spreads, and Forex.
An Option is a contract to buy or sell 100 shares at a time. They are a little tricky because they do expire and are affected by several factors called "The Greeks" (volatility, time decay, etc).
My experience with them is that I have learned so much about day trading and options from them. I really love trading Options and Option Spreads on TD Ameritrade's Think or Swim and Tasty Works. I trade mostly single leg options, vertical debit spreads, sometimes vertical credit spreads, and sometimes butterflies. I never trade "naked" positions - positions with unlimited risk.
Their site has a lot of training videos for newbies, they have a chat room for questions, and they also have programs for real-time buy / sell alerts on actual trades - take the trades that experts take and when they take them!
The also sell stock chart indicators that you can install into your trading platform. My favorites are the TTM Squeeze - anticipates explosive stock movement, Early In/Out signals - tells me when a squeeze is about to fire, Multi-Squeeze Indicator - shows me where the squeezes are across all time frames without having to switch chart views, Divergent Bar - tells me when price wants to reverse, and Voodoo Lines - automatically shows me all previous areas of support and resistance and they are color coded based on strength.
They have many other helpful tools such as Voodoo Lines - which are historical levels of support and resistance and they are color-coded based on significance.
The founder, John Carter, came up with what is called the TTM Squeeze, an indicator that measures volatility and price compression and expansion. It is often a FREE INDICATOR on most platforms, but their site has some advanced versions that work much better in getting into a trade earlier than everybody else.
John's other claim to fame is his intuitive market analysis and massive profit margins. One of his trades in GOOGL in April to May 2021 pocketed him $4.379 Million in profits!
They also offer guidance on longer term trades with their MEM Report. This service is done by Mary Ellen McGonagle who is known as the “advisor to the advisors” among top portfolio hedge and mutual fund managers. I found her service particularly useful in my IRA.
Some of their other traders are well known in different niches. I particularly like Danielle Shay. She started off as a teacher, but was introduced to trading and immediately fell in love with it. She is now VP of Options for Simpler and Danielle is a frequent expert guest in the media, on CNBC, Fox News, Nasdaq TradeTalks, Fox Business, Yahoo Finance, Cheddar, StockCharts.com, and more.
I also enjoy Raghee Horner as she is a specialist in the general markets as well as Forex. I like Forex because it trades 24 hours a day during the business week. So, lots of opportunities to make money if you are motivated to learn.
I've also learned a lot from Carolyn Boroden or "The Fibonacci Queen". Fibonacci is a way to analyze past history of price action to predict levels of support or resistance as well as timing for highs and lows - really fascinating and amazes me how stocks will very often "respect" these levels.
There are a few FREE indicators that I still use that I find extremely helpful when I am day trading. They are not proprietary to any specific platform, but for illustration sake, I use these free indicators on TD Ameritrade's Think or Swim.
First and well known are the Bollinger Bands set at 2 SD. I include the mean because when price hits the 2 SD line, it will often want to "revert to the mean" so some trades can anticipate price movement if it is trading at the outer border of the Bollinger Band, and may either slow down at the mean, or could break support.
I also like the 50 period simple moving average. It is a good indicator for sentiment. If price moves below a 50 day SMA, especially on a Daily chart, sentiment may be low. I also use the 200 day SMA as another level of support.
And lastly, I like using the Sequence Counter. It is accepted by many that price will not go in one direction for more than 9 candles. And if it does, if there is a catalyst or a lot of steam in the price movement, it can exceed 9 candles and extend into the 9-13 candle range, but almost never above 13 candles. Knowing this allows you to enter on a 9 candle dip, or exit on a 9 candle top, something like that. The default settings are thus 13,9 and it measures any candle that does not close below the previous candle's wick. Love this FREE indicator!!!
Did you know you can piggy-back on the back of "Smart Money"?
What is "Smart Money" anyway? Well, it is where large institutions are placing their multi-million dollar bets on which stocks they believe are going to move. If you want PROOF, read this article I wrote where a $19.4 MILLION dollar "Dark Pool" institutional order was printed for LVS, and I joined in on the action.
So what you do is you watch for large orders called Option Sweeps come in. Somebody somewhere knows something!!! And, fortunately, we DO NOT need to know the catalyst. That is because we will be taking a momentum trade off the back of this large institutional order. We will get on when we see the big guns get on, we will then ride the first burst of momentum, and then we will jump off before the big guns ever knew we were there. Ka-Ching!!!
In order to have this BEHIND THE SCENES look at large institutional orders, you need something called an Options Order Flow platform. While there are many, I have only found one that pre-sorts the raw data for you and hands you the highest (but not guaranteed) conviction trades on a silver platter.
At InsiderFinance, they have worked hard to solve the weaknesses of other order flow platforms by having pre-sort tools at your fingertips. If that were not enough, they also have market and stock sentiment, trending news, dark pool data, ticker research, and technical analysis integration with Trading View!
If you want to see my platform dashboard and technical analysis, watch this "over-the-shoulder" video as I take a live trade from InsiderFiinance.io on SHPW for a 211% profit day trade!
And, see the results of this trade on my blog ... Cool!
